Why I Create Content
I considered creating content for years. Growing up on YouTube, I watched creators create exciting and informative videos, in a variety of topics from tech to cat videos. Analysis paralysis got to me. I doubted I could provide value and thought no one would read my work. Then I considered, what would happen if every creator I admired thought like that. The world would lose an immense amount of content and fuel less ideas and innovation. It was time I stopped thinking and start. Once I did, I loved creating content and learned to treasure the process. Here are the reasons, I create content in my free time.
Its Creative and Fun
Creating content is fun. There’s no roadmap, deadlines, grades or expected outcome and every work is unique. I chose the topic and the work duration, a nice break from traditional work. The process keeps my brain active, letting me explore and express many ideas. Finding a topic I can offer a unique perspective on is exciting. Likewise, for less discussed topics, I can fill in knowledge gaps and entertain.
Its Productive
Hobbies don’t have to be productive but it’s nice when they are. Creating content keeps me from getting bored. Through brainstorming topics and research, I learn more about a subject and its connections to other fields and the world. The autonomy is liberating and…
