How I Studied for My Amazon Software Engineer (L4) Interview
In the middle of a warm July summer in 2022, I interviewed for a software engineer (L4) role at Amazon. I’d been working as a security engineer (L4) at Amazon fresh out college since September 2021, although my job search began in March 2022. I accepted an offer for the software engineer role at Amazon in late July. In this article, I’ll be going over coding interview resources and strategies I used. The article is broken up into 5 main sections: technical, behavioral, job hunt stats, interview experience and answers to things you might be wondering.

Background
I already studied for coding interviews in my previous interview cycle (2021 new grad job hunt). In that cycle, I studied around 60 questions (about 70% easy and 30% medium). I was seeing progress during that cycle but it was slower than I expected. So, staying motived was the hardest part.
People usually spend about 3–5 months prepping for coding interviews at big tech companies. So, setting expectations and knowing it’d be a long and hard process was helpful. I got used to studying a long time for coding interviews so I didn’t need as much willpower to motivate myself to study.
